Project Management for a ERP General Ledger implementation. This project had a team size of over 50 employees, consultants and contractors with a total workplan of over 80,000 hours.
Responsible for work planning, status and tracking, issues support & management, project scope & change management, project staffing, team integration and managing overall project quality and deliverables.
Activities included overall strategy & planning, testing strategy & planning, training strategy & planning, implementation support planning, converted data validation planning and infrastructure planning. I contribute to solutions design and QA of solutions to delivery requirements, troubleshooting, work-arounds and issues resolution from a management, functional and technical perspective. Teams under my direction include GL functional, allocations, conversion, interfaces, security, and reporting teams.
Complexities in this project included a global implementation, a large and very senior stake holder audience (chair, CEO, CIO, global VP's), extensive budget and plan status and tracking processes, a very complex data conversion, large volume interfaces, subledger extensions, phased system transitions and decommissioning, EPM (data warehouse), and Data Repository integration, multiple production instances, multi-currency, many ledgers, and many business units (over 100), many funds and fund accounting. Additional implementation project phases stated during my tenure included Accounts Payable and eProcurement modules.
After going live I managed and contributed to post-implementation support issue resolution and on-going data conversion issues and validation activities.
My "hands-on" experience during this project spans many areas including chartfield, business unit, and processing configuration, revaluation and translations, allocations, journals, closing, tree manager, and investigation of issues and data integrity using PS query and SQL plus.
